Recruiting and Retaining Customers

Recruiting and retaining customers is important for any business success. One of the ways that is easiest is the use of the principle of inclusiveness. I get baffled when people have online businesses that restrict people. Some ask for a website as a must, others ask for a fee to join and some have payment options require credit card.
When evaluating these programs I prefer one which has an option to join free, so that I first study if its genuine. Those who include a variety of options will get a lot of people to sign up.Once they become loyal then they can upgrade.

Individuals have different evaluative attitudes,so if you present a variety of options for your business its much better than limiting the options. This will also help in retaining customers as you will always provide options. Buyers can change their mind if a product has something that fits well with their attitude or income bracket. Orange Telecommunication company came to Uganda and introduced internet at various prices. Unlike MTN Telecommunication in Uganda that had one monthly price choice, the sign up for orange now called Africell was high. People upgrade because they get hooked and end up needing more.

MTN Uganda had brought a revolution in telecommunication earlier because of introducing different pricing for mobile phone users both low income and high income earner. The Celtel now(Air-tel)telecommunication company that was the first to bring mobile communication to Uganda had focused on one price for the rich people excluding many potential customers. A more inclusive product or service has relevance to a wider range of behaviors.
However product variation under the principle of inclusiveness can be objective or subjective. Some people may like one aspect of a product or none or even all aspects. It may be due to lack of information.

Psychologists say we acquire attitudes as residues of affect from the past, this residues include not only the subjective summation of the affective experiences with products or services over time, but also summation of affective responses towards component properties of the product. I usually sign up to market online programs which include free to join as an option. If we like everything about someone we know,we would express a more strongly favorable generalized attitude toward him, than we would if our expressions were mixed. So because we express mixed reactions towards products we may change our minds when one property of a product is removed that we have strong opinion about.
Principle of Inclusiveness can also increase your business income. If a product is an inclusive one and we have gone ahead to store a lot of information about it then those other properties become central as well. If you include a website in the requirements of your product, the customer finds out more information about acquiring a website. Which your business can provide at a fee.

Changing Consumers Decisions

A lot of people doing business online only advertise, promote and market programs, but don't give information on what to do to earn income from those programs. I have decided to do my own research and what to share with you what I found.

Social Psychology is good for business as it gives insight into consumer behavior. Its good for promotional activities as they influence the consumer, that is various types of communication and persuasion, including advertising, selling and sales promotion. Business would like to change consumers decisions. Attitude change as studied in social psychology can help.

CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH CONSUMERS DECISIONS CHANGE
  1. Consumer decision change depends very generally on receipt of new information that is in some way or the other relevant to the product or services. The information has to do with properties of the product.Like new uses for a product.Consumer decision change is initiated not only by actual change in affect towards a particular product but by new information that affects or subtracts some important property from the product.
  2. This principle works especially were attitudes are weak. Those who are indifferent to the existence of a particular product. When recruiting customers for banks or mobile companies in my country usually get most of new customers from out side the capital city Kampala, were people are just getting introduced to their products.
  3.  Consumers changing their minds with new information will only occur if new information is availed. If not no change will occur.
  4. A consumer is not informed at all times, preference patterns are not constant and doesn't know all the products to choose from.
  5. Change in affect normally follows change in cognitive content .They are interdependent change in one is likely to affect change in another.I started getting interested in online marketing from Partnering with Paul Myers, were I get weekly checks. After I got interested, I learned and understood more things about advertising, software and online marketing. It wouldn't have been the same if the information about Partnerwithpaul.com hadn't been introduced and I getting interested.I have now improved my skills recruiting and promotions, which I am using for earning income
  6. When feeling towards general product changes because of some new cognition of it you feel differently about some other properties as well. When I watched the U.S basketball team at the Olympics of 2000 in Australia, I also got interested and started watching in the NBA.
Psychologists also say we best understand things from conditions under which they change. If all over a sudden you have high traffic, increased sales, many referrals and increased commissions, make sure you find out why.

CHANGES IN PERCEIVED PROPERTIES OF PRODUCT OR SERVICE

Attitude towards an product can change when from our point of view the product changes. There are two special cases of such product change. It may be that the product it self has changed or that our information about the product has been revised.
When a product undergoes some change in its properties and we receive the information about the change, this though not the simplest is the most effective way for attitude change. For instance if  the product involves recruiting people to join work at home program,if you allow people from various countries to join and not restrict those joining. Also If  you allow people to join for free a program that usually used to charge for joining, you may change a lot of people's minds.

Change in information about the product, that is the product remains constant but the attitudes change as a result of new information. This could be as a result of contact with the product it self or reading about the owner of the product. When most people tell me a product on the internet is a scam, I tell them to first research about the owner, what he or she has done. Most people research about the product but not the person behind it. However the information should not be ambiguous as it will be distorted by receiver.
